The packed programme of shorts being screened at the sixteenth London Short Film Festival 11 – 20 January 2019 have been announced and the full schedule is online.
CineVue said of LSFF; “With so few platforms left for aspiring directors, DoPs, editors and actors their hone their art, LSFF has never been more vital.”
Over 500 will be shown, curated from thousands of submissions, as well as workshops and special events. The festival must be one of the most inclusive with a programme that continually questions our preconceptions and attitudes. They quote their audience breakdown in 2018 as a 58% female audience, 20% BAME, 23% LGBTQ, 6% Disabled.
Some highlights include an Illuminatrix showcase ‘The Female Lens‘ . A retrospective of Derek Jarman’s era-defining music videos, and an Afrofuturist short film selection entitled ‘A Constellation of Cosmic Queens’.
