Kees van Oostrum ASC, the President of the American Society of Cinematographers, announced during the Camerimage opening ceremony in Torun, Poland, on Saturday 9th November, that the Board of the American Society of Cinematographers ASC, has decided to join IMAGO as an Associate Member, an important step to increase international collaboration.

Paul René Roestad FNF, President of IMAGO, said; ‘to have the American Society of Cinematographers as a member of IMAGO and all ASC members integrated as part of IMAGO´s strong international family of cinematographers, is an immensely valuable step forward for IMAGO and for all cinematographers world-wide’.

Cinematographers have numerous common challenges, and the fact that the ASC now joins forces with the global community of cinematographers means that we all stand vastly stronger and in solidarity we will work to overcome any challenges for the benefit of our art. IMAGO look forward to this important partnership!

International collaboration and exchange of information, knowledge and experience between international cinematographers is essential for the development of the art of cinematography.

Both for IMAGO, the International Federation of Cinematographers, and the ASC, the American Society of Cinematographers, working together to increase international collaboration is of paramount importance.
